One of my well known and loved photoshoot locations is Tanglewood Park in Clemmons. If you are new to the area, take your family there this weekend. You'll love it!
Right before the gated entrance (to the left), you'll find a dog park and trails that go around and through the woods. Mountain bikers and horse back riders take the paths through the woods. Families with kids, the elderly and people working out take the path around the perimeter.
When you drive past the gate ($2 cash entrance fee), you'll pass a volleyball net and picnic areas right before you arrive at the horse stables! The horses are not always out, but if you're lucky you can see one!
You can meet and ride the horses upon reservation and a fee (more info here). They also have seasonal activities like an Easter Hay Ride/Egg Hunt.
Keep driving and you'll come upon a golf course and beautiful pine trees with branches perfect for resting on.
The Manor House will be on your left. Behind the Manor House is a beautifully manicured garden that has a walking trail through the woods. When I have a lifestyle photoshoot at Tanglewood, we often start in the gardens.
Drive a little farther and you'll find a big red barn which is often used for wedding receptions and parties. There is a playground across from there and farther down there is a pond with a shelter nearby.
Tanglewood has a little bit of everything! If you'd like to choose Tanglewood as your lifestyle family photoshoot location, here are a few option on activities your family can do during your photoshoot:
have a nature study in the garden! bring a magnifying glass, a sketch book and enjoy drawing the details of nature
mini picnic in the gardens or by the tall trees near the stables (maybe we can find a few horses to join!)
horseback riding (fees apply)
walk, bike, rollerblade around the perimeter trail (bring your dog!)
blow bubbles in the garden (the bigger the better!)
Enjoy this local gem with your family!
